Who pays the employee?
You can pay the net pay to employees with a bank ABA file, alternatively CloudPayroll can pay the employees with our 2-day direct debit method or same day payment after bank approval of a Transaction Negotiable Authority (TNA) or bank guarantee.
I have more than one payroll in my company can CloudPayroll handle this?
Yes, CloudPayroll is very flexible. It caters for multiple pay cycles including weekly, fortnightly, bi-monthly, 4 weekly, monthly and multiples of these cycles. Group reporting is available, which also includes Payroll Tax reporting.
Can CloudPayroll manage the PAYG?
Yes, it’s easy to stay compliant with CloudPayroll as we can include the payment of PAYG with your bank ABA file when paying employees.
Does CloudPayroll have an enterprise model?
Yes, CloudPayroll is scalable to enterprises, large companies, and multiple organisations, with additional reporting, custom fields, and user access. Contact sales@cloudpayroll.com.au about your payroll needs and for pricing.
How do I get started with CloudPayroll?
CloudPayroll need your organisation’s name, ABN, address, BSB/Account number and nominated default super fund (if you want CloudPayroll to manage super payments) to set up your organisation page. You then need to accept the contract online and sign a direct debit form. CloudPayroll then upload the direct debit form and execute contract ready for you to process first pay run.
What size businesses is CloudPayroll suitable for?
CloudPayroll suits businesses of all sizes. From small with one employee to Enterprise with several hundred employees. Our payroll solution is widely used by many industries, groups and franchises.
What ongoing help or support do CloudPayroll provide?
Clients enjoy an easy onboarding process with thorough training from our Implementation Team. Our friendly and knowledgeable local Support Team provide free ongoing support via phone and email for premium and enterprise clients.
We also provide online help documents, we constantly review and update our software to ensure we incorporate any changes to legislation, statutory holidays, or other issues.
Is CloudPayroll ATO compliant?
Yes. All our plans are fully compliant with ATO requirements, including Single Touch Payroll (STP). Your payroll data is securely submitted to the ATO in real-time. We regularly update our platform to align with the latest ATO rules and tax tables. You won’t need to worry about missing critical updates – compliance is built in and automatic.
Can I use CloudPayroll for multiple businesses?
Absolutely. Our platform supports payroll for multiple businesses under a single login, perfect for accountants, bookkeepers, or group operators.
Is CloudPayroll suitable for large or complex businesses?
Yes. We support group login, multi-entity structures, and high-volume payroll needs. Our platform is built to scale, making it easy to manage multiple brands, locations, or business units from one secure dashboard.
Can I process payroll with Withholding Payer Number (WPN)?
Yes. You can process payroll with a WPN or Australian Business Number (ABN) and report STP Phase 2.
Can I allocate payroll by job, team, or location?
Yes, use cost centre splits and time coding to track pay, leave, and super by role, team, client, or site. This makes it easy to manage internal budgeting and reporting, especially for businesses with multiple projects or departments.
How do my employees record their time?
Employees can record their time worked in our electronic timesheets (Timelogs). CloudPayroll can also accommodate paper timesheets which can be entered into a pay run or uploaded via a spreadsheet template provided.
Can CloudPayroll work with differing work patterns?
Yes, defined work patterns are used in CloudPayroll to specify what hours and days an employee works. When requesting leave and the defined work pattern has been set the system will determine whether the day is normally worked and will default to the normal hours worked in that day. A work pattern can be a set shift for a week or rotating shift patterns. For example, week 1 working Monday, Wednesday and Friday and week 2 working Tuesday and Thursday.
Can your system be used with biometric time clocks?

Does CloudPayroll manage parental leave?
Yes, there are various ways to record and pay parental leave in CloudPayroll depending on your businesses requirements.
How do I know how much annual leave my employees are entitled to take?
Administering leave is quick and easy with CloudPayroll. You specify an employee’s entitlement when they are first set up in line with their Employee Agreement. Our payroll solution can cater to many different and complex leave requirements. You’ll be able to manage your employees’ leave balances with our wide range of leave reports. When leave is recorded, the system automatically processes and updates their balances.
How can an employee see their leave balances?
Premium and Enterprise client’s employees can securely log in to their Employee Kiosk to view their leave balance, leave calendar, calculate projected leave for a future date and apply for leave.
What HR features does CloudPayroll offer?
You can set up a variety of HR reports and custom fields, such as training, performance reviews, certificates, and licence expiries.
Can I store employee records in CloudPayroll?
You can securely and conveniently upload, store and access employee HR documents. For example, you could store employment agreements, qualification details, doctor’s certificates within an employee's file, all at no extra cost.
What reports does CloudPayroll automatically generate after a payrun?
Our comprehensive report suite provides you with 50+ reports including financial, HR, leave, tax, history, and payroll reports. You can choose between viewing reports online or downloading them in a choice of formats.

My employer hasn’t given me a login to get my payslip what do I do?
You will need to ask your employer or payroll department for a copy of your recent payslip and follow the log-in instructions within it. Unfortunately, our Support Team cannot deal directly with employees.
I previously worked for a company that used CloudPayroll can I still see my old pay information on your system?
Provided the information you are seeking was generated within the past 12 months, then yes. Simply login as usual to the Employee Kiosk using your previous details.
What if I have a question about my payslip?
Please contact your employer or payroll department. Unfortunately, our Support Team cannot deal directly with employees.

Where do I find my payslip?
If you employer is on our Premium or Enterprise plan you will be able to see your payslip through your Employee Kiosk.
As an employee, what do I do if I can’t remember my password for my Employee Kiosk?
Use this link to reset your password. You will need access to your emails.
How do I reset 2FA for my Employee Kiosk login?
Please contact your employer or payroll department to disable 2FA on your behalf and you can then reset it yourself. Our Support Team cannot communicate directly with employees.
Are the mobile apps secure?
Yes! The app and its data are protected with two-factor authentication, encrypted data transmission, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified infrastructure. Employees payroll and personal data are always handled with enterprise-grade security protocols to prevent unauthorised access.
Does the Employee Kiosk update in real-time?
Yes, any actions taken in the Employee Kiosk app (like submitting leave or logging hours) are reflected instantly in the payroll system.
Is the Employee Kiosk available on desktop as well?
Absolutely. You can access the same functionality via a browser on any device. Whether you prefer mobile or desktop, the Employee Kiosk experience is seamless and consistent across platforms.
Does CloudPayroll offer Enterprise pricing?

How much is the Premium plan?
$2.20 per person per pay run, plus a $7.75 pay run charge per week excluding GST (other pay cycles are fortnightly, monthly, bi-monthly, 4-weekly). Note: implementation fees may also apply.
How much does the Mini plan cost?

Are there setup fees?
Setup fees may apply depending on your business needs and the level of migration support required. Contact us for a tailored quote.
What type of support is included in each plan?
All plans come with unlimited local phone and email support during business hours at no additional fee. You’ll also get help with onboarding, training, and ongoing queries.
What’s the difference between Premium and Outsourced plans?
Premium is a self-managed plan where you run payroll yourself. Outsourced means we do the heavy lifting, entering data, running pay cycles, and lodging STP while you stay informed and in control.
Does CloudPayroll use two-factor authentication (2FA)?
CloudPayroll introduced 2FA in 2017. It is compulsory and automatically enabled for all clients.
As the paymaster or payroll administrator how do I reset 2FA for my dashboard login?
If you are the main user (without initials after your username) you will need to contact our Support Team who will assist you in resetting your 2FA. For all other users, contact the main user in your organisation who can disable your 2FA to allow you to reset it. Please visit our Online Help page for more information on disabling and resetting 2FA.
Are there different User Role access levels depending on a user’s role in the payroll process?
Yes, there are multiple levels of secure user access that can be set up. The 'Paymaster' is the main user and will have full oversight of the organisation's account in CloudPayroll. 'Enquiry Only' user can view all payroll information but cannot make changes. 'Data Entry' user can enter information only. 'Leave Approver' user can review and process pending leave requests for their team. 'Timelog' user can view and approve employees submitted Timelog entries.
How does CloudPayroll protect my business’s confidential information including employee details?

How secure is my data?

Does your payroll system handle piece-work calculations?
Yes, CloudPayroll recognises that some people are paid based on the number of items produced, rather than an hourly wage.
Am I able to use Kitomba with CloudPayroll?
Yes, Kitomba is one of our many integration partners widely used in the hair and beauty industry. We have many customers using both systems to make paying their staff quick easy.
Does CloudPayroll integrate with Xero?

Can I easily migrate from my current payroll software to CloudPayroll?
Yes, you can. Our highly trained and knowledgeable Implementation Team will transfer your employees’ information from any other payroll system into CloudPayroll. They will also provide full training with free ongoing support via phone and email provided by our Help Team.
Can I use CloudPayroll to pay employees working in New Zealand?
No, however iPayroll is CloudPayroll’s parent company developed and launched in the New Zealand market in 2001. For more information about iPayroll visit their website.
How does CloudPayroll accommodate contractors?
CloudPayroll allows you to set up GST registered, non-GST registered, Superannuation (if required) and PAYG (if required). You can choose whether a Remittance advice or Recipient Created Tax invoice is generated. Premium and Enterprise clients’ contractors will have access in their Employee Kiosk.
Does the Employee Kiosk support contractor submissions?
Yes. Contractors can use the app to access recipient tax invoice or remittance advice and request changes, depending on their system setup. Customise access based on role, giving contractors the visibility they need without unnecessary complexity.
Can I pay contractors through CloudPayroll?
Yes. You can issue remittance advice or a Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI) and report TPAR when needed. It’s a simple way to manage both employee and contractor payments in one place.
